DREAMS

There are many ways that dreams can be interpreted – all of them valid and valuable and not mutually exclusive.

Psychological and Jungian methods are probably the most popular. Psychological dreaming implies the subconscious in R.E.M. sleep is the source of the dream.

Jungian dreams are said to come from the Collective Unconscious or the Archetypal World.

Yoga or Buddhist dreaming requires an advanced level of spirituality and the ability to download information from the Causal realm.

Lucid dreaming is usually a gift that most do not have, and in my experience, is difficult to cultivate without some inherent aptitude. 

Dreams also arise from our subconscious’ house cleaning', from ridding ourselves of clutter and apprehension, as well as the replaying of scenes for pleasure or clarification. We sometimes have bad dreams in reaction to bodily discomfort, from being too hot, from alcohol, watching negative T.V. or a horror movie the evening before. We have to be wary of our own psychic garbage.

Shamanic dream interpretation is the closest to the discipline I am going to describe. The shaman’s dreams are scripted by their guides that usually are in the Astral realms, sometimes from the Causal enlightened realms (and rarely - for the enlightened, sages and prophets - the Celestial realms.)

Spirits have a huge advantage over us sentient beings because their viewpoint is much broader and well informed. They also have access to our karmic book of life and know to what purpose or destiny we have been assigned. We are all given a unique gift with which we are meant to help others and the planet. Our task is to find and follow it with gusto.

Our guides can help us do this. If we ask to receive they can help nudge us in the right direction or tell us when we are heading in the wrong one. Because free will is the cosmic law they are usually prohibited from telling us exactly what to do. That is for us to find out. The quest for our destiny, our mission, our purpose is seminal to our karmic journey on the planet. Each one of us has a small but vital role to play in its healing.

These messages from scripted dreams can be life enhancing.

In order to develop them, we need to have a dedicated spiritual practice, an altar to our guides, and some kind of spiritual life that opens up the Third Eye and makes us more able to connect with the ‘Field’ of spirit energies.

The Ancestors say that the snake brings the dream. The snake represents the Kundalini in Yoga. This life force, which is feminine and serpent-like in nature, can ascend up the Chakra hierarchy and open up the Third Eye so that one can dream or intuit more effectively. We all have this energy, its ubiquitous and not exclusive to Yogis, Sangomas or San Bushmen healers. Sangomas call it Umbilini, the San - Num.

The following are dream possibilities

Precognitive dreams.

Telepathic dreams.

Consecutive dreams the same night reinforcing the message.

Going back into the dream to complete it or recall it.

Kundalini like energy moving in the body which can support the initiation type of dream.

Initiation dreams. These can be frightening as in those with dismemberment but also empowering if associated with one's spiritual transformation.

Mutual dreams with a dream partner.

Visitations.

These occur outside of the dream state. Dreams are not the same as visitations. To 'visit' requires significant energy and skill. Visits can occur when there is a great purpose or a need for support.

There are also dysfunctional spirit guides that should have no part in our destiny or our spiritual lives. They are usually from the lower astral and may want to guide us in line with their own karmic difficulties and limitations. Moreover, they may want to favor their progeny to our disadvantage, such as a business arrangement or relationship, that is not to your benefit. These so-called ‘evil ancestors’ have their own agendas, and they are not coming from a vibration compatible with our needs.

The fact that you have a dream that you need to be in relationship with somebody does not mean that your ancestor is inducing you to connect with this person. It might also be a trickster so one has to be careful.

A purely psychological interpretation of dreams discounts a guiding non local spirit source that can be nurtured and is personal.

Ancestors/Guides may script our dreams and can influence us either inside or outside of the dream state. Those that do not dream may get downloads when in a receptive or meditative state during the day. The mechanisms are similar.

These dreams or intuitions are scripted,  ‘official’ and supporting, warning or instructional.

Fear and ego are the biggest stumbling blocks to interpretation.

Be warned that dreams speak not the way things have to be, but the way they will be unless action is taken.

Our guides tell us what to see, and what can be if we do not take action. 

Because of free will its up to us with what we do with the information. They are trying to urge us in the right direction and appraise us of upcoming events that might be harmful or even helpful. We need to be especially cognizant of warnings and avoid them.

The most impactful of dreams is the nightmare which demands we take action (even though on occasion it can also be scripted by a trickster.) The situation is exaggerated to get our attention. If you dream a house you are thinking of purchasing gets enveloped in an earthquake with you in it don't buy it. You may be in danger of 'being buried.'

In other words the way a dream is understood and interpreted can actualize its manifestation. Therefore its important to put a positive spin on the dream if this is possible.

Beware the accuracy of the interpretation (which sets intention and action.)

Sometimes, because of an urgency the guide may come to someone else that is a more receptive channel. This can even be a person who hardly knows you. Its called "getting someone else's mail." If you get one for someone else, the 'mail' must be delivered but if its bad news it should be done skillfully.

The Zohar also says dreams may contain both truth and lies and sometimes we have to dissect out the truth from the dream. Tricksters can also infiltrate one's dreamscape to sabotage the interpretation.

The established reservoir of symbols and images in the  psyche is highly individual.

Symbols and images already in the dreamers subconscious are used since this is much easier than scripting one de novo. These may be recent or past. If you have just seen images of a tsunami on TV and then dream you are in one do not dismiss it. It may that something may be coming to 'drown you,' financially or otherwise.

Be careful of saying ... its only a dream.

Its important when one awakes not to move, get out of bed or even reach for your smart phone to record a dream. Lie still, recover all the details and have them fixed in your mind before doing anything about recording it or writing it in one's journal.
