 Scripted Dreams #2

(Unless otherwise stated the quotes are from the Ancestors)

Dreams also arise from the our subconscious' house cleaning, from ridding ourselves of clutter and apprehension, as well as the replaying of scenes for pleasure or clarification. We sometimes have bad dreams in reaction to bodily discomfort, from being too hot, from alcohol and watching negative T.V. or a horror movie the evening before. We have to be wary of our own psychic clutter. Fear can be our own greatest tricksters in interpretation.

Less often we have disturbing, intrusive dreams from earth bound spirits, dead relatives or others that are not resting peacefully. Sometimes we just feel them around us at night but not necessarily see them in a dream. One may require expert spiritual help if this is an ongoing issue.

Scripted dreams broadly speaking are instructive and are meant to help up with our life paths and destiny. They help us with the clues on the treasure hunt to our future, by keeping us on track.

Accessing the dream world.

To access the “Cosmic Field” and the spirit world, some form of ongoing inward or spiritual practice is essential to move “The Snake” - the feminine, serpent like energy that rests in the lower belly -  Kundalini to the yogis, Umbilini to the Zulu and Num to the San Bushmen. This power is universal - we all have it, although it is little acknowledged in the Western world. Spiritual practice will open up the heart chakra which in turn helps us access the higher chakras and especially the Third Eye – the key to our intuitive abilities and the dream time. Nurturing this Snake is all about enhancing our vibration and being able to access information not localized in space in time from our guides. Some folks do not dream but get downloads in awake time, usually when in a receptive, relaxed or meditative state.

Visitations

Visitations occur outside of the dream state. They usually come when there is an urgent need to convey information or on special occasions such as a birthday or a death date. They are rare, take a huge effort on behalf of the spirit, as well as needing the dreamer to be an open, permeable conduit. They are occasions for tremendous gratitude. The spirit appears to be present as if in real time.

Dreams

Re your guides

I once gave a talk at a Jungian conference in Cape Town where I was asked to give a sangoma's account of dreams. While trying to prepare I received an instructional dream telling me to use a computer model to better explain how scripted dreams work.

Guides "copy and paste" established symbols and images, both recent and remote into the dreamer’s psyche. These symbols and images are highly individual and may have various cultural and religious meanings to different people. For instance, to a dog lover, a dream of a dog may signify loyalty or unconditional love – to a Zulu tribesman - maybe witchcraft. A dream of fish to a Christian may have a spiritual significance – to a Venda business person it may mean money is coming soon.

It is more efficient for guides to use our memory "banks" to deliver their message. They can script their own dream images but this takes much more effort. Sometimes they will also use “photoshop” to tweak the dream before copying and pasting.

Dreams can be as powerful as visitations but are subject to trickster interference. Like the internet, our dream psyches are open to light but also vulnerable to dark influences. Trickster spirits can block our dreams completely and even pollute them by altering them in “photoshop” before they are pasted by our guides. They also have the power to script their own dreams. This is why the Ancestors teach that dreams can contain both truth and lies. Our shadow, ego, monkey mind, fear and psychic clutter can also lie to us.

As you think it so it can be, as you believe it, so it will be.

The Zohar says that the dream follows its interpretation. The interpretation can set the intention which may dictate what the mind decides to be the appropriate action. Hence it is critical to  take a positive spin on a dream because this will create a better  manifestation. For instance, a dream of death may really represent rebirth. Perseverating on death will create a nocebo effect (the opposite of placebo) and possibly a self-inflicted hex.

The more one knows about the dreamer’s psyche the better the interpretation will be. One should always try and look on the bright side with one’s understanding and if we are sure it is a blatant lie discount it completely. Going with the heart will usually tell you the truth.

Warning dreams are not providential. What has been shown is not inevitable. One has to take action to prevent what is seen by our guides who have the advantage of not being localized in space and time. The message may not be literal. For instance if one has booked a flight to some destination (and has no fear of flying,) a warning dream might mean there are going to be issues around the flight. Did you take your passport or will you leave something crucial behind, are there going to be traffic issues en route to the airport or will your flight be delayed ?? In other words dot the I's and cross your T's before you fly. If you dream the plane is going down in flames then maybe consider rescheduling your flight.

When we interpret our or another's dream we also need to be wary of the shadow, monkey mind, ego or fear. as well as our own projections. It is essential to have some background about that person as well as retaining an optimistic focus.

We need to beware of making the interpretation of the dream fit to what ego or monkey mind desire.

Each individual, however, is the final arbitrator of his/her own dream.

The most skillful interpreter, even one who knows you well, can at best only be revealing, suggesting and guiding.

The veil between the worlds is the most permeable in the early hours of the morning in R.E.M. sleep. Most of us do not dream in deep (delta rhythm) sleep which occurs soon after we fall asleep. Your "prayer'"or request for a dream is best made just before falling asleep. We have to ask to receive and because our guides are bound by the cosmic law of free will, we have to be very specific. We should keep dead still after awaking so that we can slowly retrieve the dream. If we reach for our dream journal or smart phone to record, it will usually "escape." Its best to memorize it while being completely still, repeat it several times to oneself in as much detail as possible and only then record it when the dream is secure.

Dreams – As Scripted by Spirit Guides

(All quotes are from the Ancestors unless other wise stated)

There are many ways that dreams can be interpreted – all of them valid and valuable and not mutually exclusive. Psychological and Jungian methods are probably the most popular. Yoga or Buddhist interpretation requires an advanced level of spirituality and the ability to usually download information from the Causal realm. Lucid dreaming is usually a gift that most do not have and in my experience is difficult to cultivate.

Shamanic dream interpretation is the closest to the discipline I am going to describe. Here the shaman’s dreams are scripted from their guides that usually are in the Astral realms - sometimes from the Causal enlightened realms. Spirits have a huge advantage over us sentient beings because they are non-local in space and time. Their viewpoint is much broader and well informed. They also have access to our karmic book of life and know to what purpose or destiny we have been assigned. We are all given a unique gift that can help others and the planet. Our task is to find and follow it with gusto. Our guides can help us to do this. In a crude way they are our Destiny "Ap" through the dream time. If we ask to receive they can help nudge us in the right direction or tell us when we are heading in the wrong one. Because free will is the cosmic law they are usually prohibited from telling us what it is. That is for us to find out. This quest is also seminal to our karma.

A purely psychological interpretation of dreams is limited and discounts a guiding non-local spirit source that can be nurtured and is highly personal.

It is useful to know a little about the death experience to understand how and why our guides or ancestors can help, or why the dysfunctional ones may intrude into our dreams and interfere.

CROSSING OVER

Involuntary Earth Bound Spirits.

When we pass over to the other side this crossing is not inevitable. If we are ill prepared we may become earth bound, stuck on the earth plane between the two worlds. Some earth-bound spirits (E.B.S.) do not even know they are dead and wonder why no one is bothering to converse with them. The involuntary E.B.S. usually occur due to a sudden, traumatic or confused death when it can be difficult to hear the ancestors calling them home or they are unable to visualize the light that is beckoning them. These folks will need to be guided back across the veil by someone with the right expertise. They most frequently abide in the home in which they had lived and the died. This may be a good reason why in some states it is necessary to tell a prospective buyer that this happened. They may intrude in ones dreams and even be seen in awake time by some who are receptive to this energy. There is nothing good about being haunted even if the spirit means no harm.

Voluntary Earth Bound Spirits

On the other hand, a spirit may choose to stay earth bound for a period of time in order to be a source of support and guidance to a living loved one through dreams or even visitations. They can also send messages by manipulating your or their favorite animal to you for support. In a sense this is also like a dream as is the downloading of information during awake time during some form of meditation or when one is in a receptive state. These E.B.S. are voluntarily making the decision to delay transition of their soul to the other side. In a sense they are making a sacrifice by being in the wrong place but at the right time.

Assuming we make the crossing uneventfully our karma will determine which vibration we have earned and arrive in. There are countless realms and vibrations within these realms.

The Causal Realms.

The Causal realms house the perfected souls. Their karma is intact and they do not need to reincarnate unless they choose to do service in the sentient realm again. In the Causal, one retains free will and can operate freely. When they do come back, they will frequently suffer for the greater good in order to do some seminal task. For instance, the “Gandhi archetypes” who usually suffer and make a huge contribution for a worthy cause.

The minority of us will have guides from the Causal. Fewer still from the Celestial realms. Depending on one’s belief the Causal may have other names; the enlightened realm, the Pure Land (Buddhism,) the Garden of Eden (Kabbalah.)

The Astral realms.

When dead, you can influence on behalf of others but not for yourself.

The last chance for determining and acting for your own mission and fulfillment, is with your last earthly breath.

You are then stuck with how you are and where you were.

For most of us our guides originate from the Astral realms where they loose free will. They are accountable to their karma and will need to reincarnate, possibly countless times, in order to attain spiritual perfection. We recycle back into the family who are the most likely to test and instruct us with the lessons we did not learn previously. Frequently we reincarnate back into the blood line.

There is no free will across the veil in the Astral. The dead depend on the living to repair, complete, forgive and release them if such is needed.

In the Astral we face a spiritual tribunal who scrutinize our past deeds lovingly and with compassion. However, there will be consequences for our failures - karma is relentless and we will have to go back again to reconcile.

Some may have the option of becoming a spirit guide to someone living. In this way – working through their free will – the guide can complete work s/he never finished in the past life times and improve their karmic profile. These guides are the ones responsible for our scripted dreams. We return the favor with gratitude usually in ritual using the "container" of a spirit guide altar.

Guides are not localized in time and space and can give us invaluable and sometimes life-saving advice – usually through dreams. They also gain knowledge and insight from the reconciliation process and are not the same as they were previously. The devout religious zealot may now be much more liberal, the one who did not believe in life after death – better educated.

Buddhist seek to pierce the veil of Maya (illusion) and get a glimpse of transcendent truth in dreams. To them (and the Ancestors,) real time is no different to the dream time - it is just another form of reality.

The Buddhists look at dream sleep as a rehearsal for the Bardot or the intermediate stage of death. Astral travel during sleep allows them to tap into "Store Consciousness"  (the accumulation of our consciousnesses from past lives.) In this way they have the ability to take stock and rehearse it in awake time so as not to make the same mistakes again this time around. To them;

Death - the Intermediate stage of Death -  Rebirth are no different to - Dreamless sleep - R.E.M. sleep - Rebirth (awakening to a new day.)

The dead and the living can best meet in R.E.M. sleep in the early hours of the morning in the Astral when the veil between worlds is the most permeable. Mostly the dead we meet are our guides or are reconciling with their karma in the Astral before reincarnating.

It is likely that many of us do dream in dreamless sleep but do not recall them. Yogananda was a Causal dream adept and probably best epitomizes the dreaming achieved by advanced Buddhists and Yogis. He did not enjoy being in the Astral, probably because of his high vibration. During dreamless Causal sleep one connect with enlightened masters and travel to other Locas.

Those that are lucid dreamers are able - with right intention - to do spiritual practice while asleep as well as have fun.

 DYSFUNCTIONS IN DEATH #3

The spiritual intrusions which cause dysfunctions in death fall mainly into two main groups; earthbound spirits lost between the worlds and spirits seeking forgiveness that intrude upon and haunt the living hoping for reconciliation. Being haunted can cause "dis"-ease which may eventually lead to disease. These symptoms are real, even if they would be suspect or unknown to Western medicine and psychiatry. They include somatic complaints such as anxiety, malaise and depression. Sufferers may wonder why life is not going smoothly and why they have bad luck and difficulty with personal and work relationships. Frequently they see a physician and get a full work up, only to be told - "there is nothing wrong with you" - while there is, even if it's not organic.

Earthbound spirits (E.B.S.) are of two types

Involuntary and Voluntary.

Involuntary EBS

These dysfunctions of death have to do with an unprepared or sudden death, confusion and powerful attachments to objects, work or loved ones. Most commonly they hang around the places where the death occurred. Sometimes they may be attracted to someone for whatever the reason and choose to stay around them. These earthbound entities create energetic dysfunction as described above with their presence even though it may not be intentional. There is nothing good about being haunted even if it's a relatively benign appearing ghost in one’s home.

The earthbound spirit can be directed back to the light with the right expertise from someone skilled in this type of work. They are lost between the worlds and their spiritual destiny is seriously hampered. Some do not even know they are dead.

The places they may be found include cemeteries, war fields and hospitals. They also occur in Native American burial grounds and places where genocide has occurred and may affect those who are sensitive to their presence. To others who are only moving through the area it is unlikely they would be affected or "pick up"an EBS who may be attracted to them, but possible. If one is considering buying a property where these events may have happened it would be good to check on the history of the area.

Personally I have had weird dreams and strange things happen to me in sacred Native American places especially caves with rock art. I also once slept in a cave while backpacking in the Drakensberg in  place where Bushmen atrocities had occurred and had a disturbing night of visitations. Aboriginal spirits may not enjoy the presence of Caucasians no matter how good their intentions. On another occasion when visiting Adam's calendar in Mpumalanga South Africa I picked up a negative spirit that attached to me and that I later had to exorcise. I think, because of who I am, I may be a target for negative forces and so these experiences are probably unique to me and others doing similar work.

The Ancestors

Voluntary EBS

These EBS choose to stay around the earth-plane in order to be of better assistance to a living loved one. This may occur for a variety of reasons such as being of support during the bereavement or assisting with conflicts usually around the will or other unfinished business. They choose to be earthbound because if they return to the light communication will be more difficult. They will usually wait until given permission to leave or when they know it is time to go and continue with their own karmic traverse. They are making a sacrifice by retarding the migration of their soul. Sometime they require spiritual help in leaving.

Intrusive spirits from unfinished business

(Skeletons in the Closet)

Spirits who have not been forgiven for their sins while on the earth plane are faced with the prospect of redoing the previous incarnation all over again in a different form but with the same challenges that defied them the last time. Because this is an onerous prospect they may intrude on the living seeking forgiveness. Their presence may cause various energetic dysfunctions similar to those  described above. If forgiveness is granted from the living for sins such as physical, emotional and sexual abuse, hampering a child’s destiny by the imposition of parental will or anything else, then the karmic slate is cleansed of those particular sins and the next incarnation can be more favorable. Forgiveness will release the spirit from that burden and allow for a more optimal reincarnation.

Forgiveness is key because of the possibility of being confronted with intrusive entities from our past in the future. It is wise to do this before death - after death it may require special expertise. There are several reasons why we should forgive, no matter how difficult the circumstances.

Forgiveness is more beneficial for one forgiving than for the forgiven one. It releases negative energy that the person has been carrying around with them like an albatross around their neck. Forgiveness has been shown to be healthful. Victims of AIDS who forgave the person who gave them the virus live longer and have higher T cell counts than those who did not.

Re the biblical saying,

"the sins of the fathers (and mothers and grandfathers and mothers) are visited upon the children unto the fourth generation."...

This does not mean that their progeny will be accountable for their misdeeds, only that spirits frequently reincarnate back into the blood line. Far better that the alcoholic, abusive father reincarnate with less dysfunction and a better chance of redemption the next time around. The family may appreciate this in case he were to come back as a grandchild or a nephew.

The commandement

"Honor your father and mother ..."

is profound. It says honor, not love or even like them. We honor them with forgiveness. They gave us life and the onus is on us to forgive, not the other way around. For others, however, we do not have to forgive but it is a good idea to do so all the same.

It is clear from my experience that once the spirit is released with forgiveness the "dis"-ease goes away. The spirit returns to the Astral from whence they will reincarnate into a somewhat better vibration. We should be wary of allowing these spirits to be guides or having them on your altar but we do need to release them from whatever it was they did to us.

We need to be careful of inviting spirits or guides from lesser vibrations. These are also the kind of spirits that show up in seances pretending to be a lost loved one. A seance is an invitation to them. This differs from consulting a competent psychic who can advise you accurately with the help of a higher level of vibrational guidance.

The Ancestors

Other forms of spiritual intrusion and dysfunction
In South Africa someone who is "called" to become a sangoma, may experience the "calling" sickness or the Thwasa illness. Until one relents and initiates or reconciles with the spirits as to why it is not possible at the moment, the illness will persist. Thwasa is a calling to one's destiny and if not responded to appropriately there will be a serious missed opportunity and a later karmic burden. This is a favor and a blessing from spirit and not a dysfunction even if it causes dysfunction at first. The archetypal wounded healer is then driven by the "wound" to become who they truly are. Once the wounded one commits, the illness mysteriously disappears.

Energetic Pollution or Ritual Impurity
This is an imprint from something or someone negative that affects the living. It may be part of the law of contagion which states that if things are in contact with one another they can affect the other.
An example would be attending to a dead body which is commendable but may require a cleansing afterwards. Morticians have a difficult job and should protect themselves.
Eating road kill. In the Kalahari I once observed a shaman exorcising the energetic pollution that had affected a woman who had eaten a puff adder - a poisonous snake.
Possessing ritualized objects used for occult intentions or having weapons belonging to someone who has killed in battle or at all. Just as "bad blood" can arise from dysfunctional intrusive spirits on their progeny so too can it be retained in "polluted" objects. Hence we should be careful what we hang on our walls or display, no matter how interesting. We should be wary of collecting things such as old masks or samurai swords when we do not know who used them and for what purpose.
Visiting places where satanic like activity has occurred.
It is worthwhile remembering that if heinous acts have been perpetrated around areas where there is water the place will be very difficult to ritually cleanse. This is true even for water below ground. Water has resonance, vibration and memory and responds accordingly to light or dark, to love or fear (hate.)
The Ancestors warn about the Buddhist practice of Tonglin. This has the potential for taking in negative forces and impurity and being polluted. The essence of Tonglin is to breathe in the suffering of another person or persons and to breathe out loving-kindness, compassion and healing which is commendable. However, it can be harmful especially when taking in evil either on this or the other side and attempting to purify it which may be optimistic. Far better to breath in white light and love and exhale it to wherever appropriate. There are dark forces on the other side who may find someone practicing in the light a reproach to them and whom they may want to attack. Intuitively if it also feels wrong to inhale someone else's sickness or darkness unless you are an enlightened invulnerable sentient being.
Soul Retrieval is also a powerful healing practice that can be dangerous work for the same reason depending on how it is done.

 DEATH #2

 THE ASTRAL
THE ASTRAL REALM AND RECONCILIATION
(unless otherwise indicated all quotes here are from the Ancestors)

On the other side, we no longer have options upon which to decide what fashions our destiny. We have already determined it.
We do, however, still have thought, intent and opinion which we may use to help others though no longer ourselves.
Thus the ancestors need our help just as we need theirs.
Forgiveness, love and gratitude are how we help them.

Those that arrive in the Astral realm, which is most of us, will have more spiritual work to do. We are carried by our karma to that vibration which we have earned and where we feel the most comfortable. We navigate with intention, imagination, will and  passion (our hearts and love.) With our imagination we can create anything we wish. This sounds amazing but eventually becomes boring and the desire to do so dissipates. For instance, the avid golfer can imagine the most spectacular golf course to play in, and with anyone they can create, but every strike, will be a hole in one. There is no tension and hence no challenge.

We lose touch with other vibrations. We cannot vibrate to higher realms but spiritual masters can travel freely throughout all the realms. To those in the Astral, the higher realms, are invisible.

There are just as many paths in death as in life.

Each faith will have a different imagining and hence go to a different place. We usually will end up in the same vibration as our loved ones and those with the same or similar belief systems. This is why we may want to do our karmic work before death - we may not want to end up similarly to where we have always been. Once in the Astral …

When dead, you can influence on behalf of others but not for yourself. The last chance for determining and acting for your own mission and fulfillment, is with your last earthly breath. You are then stuck with how you are and where you were.

In the Astral one faces a spiritual tribunal or "School for the Higher Self or soul." This is not "judgment day" in that sense. We are brought before this tribunal to reconcile with our karma. This is done in a loving and non-judgmental way but we are fully accountable to the spiritual laws of the cosmos. One's lawyer cannot help here. One is confronted with one's actions for which there will be inevitable reincarnation consequences.

"Whatsoever a man soeth, that shall he also reap." Galatians

A spiritual tribunal decides on our merits and demerits. Karma is only alterable if the dead are forgiven for their sins by those still living. Reconciliations can also be made between parties in the afterlife.

Forgiveness will release the spirit from their karmic sins and the implications thereof which otherwise could result in a suboptimal reincarnation where they would be required to overcome the challenges that defied them previously. This is why the dead sometimes haunt the living in order to be released from their karmic burdens.

We should be aware of the fact that the Astral realm has can be a type of hell. We lose free will and although we can imagine and create anything and everything we wish, eventually we are trapped into coming back into another life time or, if so assigned, being a guide to someone on the earth plane.

Forgiveness will release the soul from the consequences of that particular action only. This applies especially to our fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers and hence the commandment;

"Honor your father and mother so that your days can be long upon the earth."

They gave us birth and without them we would not be in a sentient body. Therefore, the onus for forgiveness is on their living progeny. For completion the dead also need to forgive the living for their misdeeds. This is why closure is so essential before death. There should be no unfinished business before passing on. The soul - before crossing over - must be at peace and skeletons in the closet should be addressed before and not left undone. Forgiveness can be completed after death but this will require expert spiritual assistance that includes forgiveness rituals.

There is no free will across the veil. The dead depend on the living to repair, complete, forgive and release them if such is needed.

Do not expect Astral actions and decisions here to transform into Causal hereafter. You will be as you are now. Be whole hearted in your choice. Is one deciding from Narrow (monkey mind) or from Spacious mind (big mind)? We do not only ring our own bell but fashion it as well. The high Astral is greatly satisfying for those who do not yearn for more. Heart-feltness is what the Creator wants most.

Reconciliation in a sense is like a School for the higher Self, an incubation to improve the soul's path. The process is embraced by truth and love Here we refine our desires by a witnessing process governed by a spiritual tribunal of a higher order. We learn to detach from our compulsions, addictions, obsessions and fears. New knowledge can be acquired and at least to some extent will reside in our "soulular" memories from previous life times into the next. Forgiveness from other spirits in the Astral or those on the earth plane can improve dysfunction and advance the next incarnation. The "black sheep" who is really "white" in spiritual terms may come back to try and help heal family dysfunction.

Our options in the Astral are limited. We can reincarnate - usually into the family who is the most likely to be able to test and help us overcome the dysfunctions we never resolved in prior life times. We choose the parents who can best help us refine the higher Self.

Depending on the spiritual tribunal it is possible, I believe, to graduate to a higher vibration.

We may be permitted to continue in the Astral as a spirit guide with new assignments to assist the living.

Although we lose free will in the Astral, one can work as a spirit guide through the free will of either a living loved person or someone else that we have been assigned to help. The guide that is chosen will usually have had a similar expertise during their life time and therefore is most able to be of assistance to the one living. For instance, the spirit guide who helps me in my bone divination was a sangoma in her previous life and is now completing work she never completed in her last incarnation. In this way she helps me with my destiny and improves her karma at the same time. However, because free will is the cosmic law those alive on the earth plane need to ask very specifically for what they want or preferably for what they really need for their spiritual lives and purpose.

She or he cannot simply help us with our lives without clear direction. One cannot make a request such as; "please tell me what my destiny is," we have to find that out for ourselves. They can help nudge us in the right direction with our skillful requests. Perfected souls can also assist the living through their free will but have no need to do so to improve their karmic profile.

There is no time beyond the veil and it may take years in earth time before a spirit guide may appear.

Ancestors and guides usually retain their persona, apparel, language, beliefs and idiosyncrasies. However, they have been “purified” and given a reality check during reconciliation. The religious fundamentalist may no longer be a zealot and someone who never believed in an after-life will now know the truth.

The living can also assist the dead in this process. Rituals of remembrance empower them. Some kind of spirit guide practice is required to ask and keep in touch with the dead; an altar, a dream practice, prayers, requests, gratitude, love and celebrations on days special to them such as birthday days and death days.
