DEATH #2
On the other side, we no longer have options upon which to decide what fashions our destiny. We have already determined it.
We do, however, still have thought, intent and opinion which we may use to help others though no longer ourselves.
Thus the ancestors need our help just as we need theirs.
Forgiveness, love and gratitude are how we help them.
There are just as many paths in death as in life.
Each faith will have a different imagining and hence go to a different place. We usually will end up in the same vibration as our loved ones and those with the same or similar belief systems. This is why we may want to do our karmic work before death - we may not want to end up similarly to where we have always been. Once in the Astral …
When dead, you can influence on behalf of others but not for yourself. The last chance for determining and acting for your own mission and fulfillment, is with your last earthly breath. You are then stuck with how you are and where you were.
In the Astral one faces a spiritual tribunal or "School for the Higher Self or soul." This is not "judgment day" in that sense. We are brought before this tribunal to reconcile with our karma. This is done in a loving and non-judgmental way but we are fully accountable to the spiritual laws of the cosmos. One's lawyer cannot help here. One is confronted with one's actions for which there will be inevitable reincarnation consequences.
"Whatsoever a man soeth, that shall he also reap." Galatians
A spiritual tribunal decides on our merits and demerits. Karma is only alterable if the dead are forgiven for their sins by those still living. Reconciliations can also be made between parties in the afterlife.
Forgiveness will release the spirit from their karmic sins and the implications thereof which otherwise could result in a suboptimal reincarnation where they would be required to overcome the challenges that defied them previously. This is why the dead sometimes haunt the living in order to be released from their karmic burdens.
We should be aware of the fact that the Astral realm has can be a type of hell. We lose free will and although we can imagine and create anything and everything we wish, eventually we are trapped into coming back into another life time or, if so assigned, being a guide to someone on the earth plane.
"Honor your father and mother so that your days can be long upon the earth."
They gave us birth and without them we would not be in a sentient body. Therefore, the onus for forgiveness is on their living progeny. For completion the dead also need to forgive the living for their misdeeds. This is why closure is so essential before death. There should be no unfinished business before passing on. The soul - before crossing over - must be at peace and skeletons in the closet should be addressed before and not left undone. Forgiveness can be completed after death but this will require expert spiritual assistance that includes forgiveness rituals.
There is no free will across the veil. The dead depend on the living to repair, complete, forgive and release them if such is needed.
Do not expect Astral actions and decisions here to transform into Causal hereafter. You will be as you are now. Be whole hearted in your choice. Is one deciding from Narrow (monkey mind) or from Spacious mind (big mind)? We do not only ring our own bell but fashion it as well. The high Astral is greatly satisfying for those who do not yearn for more. Heart-feltness is what the Creator wants most.
Reconciliation in a sense is like a School for the higher Self, an incubation to improve the soul's path. The process is embraced by truth and love Here we refine our desires by a witnessing process governed by a spiritual tribunal of a higher order. We learn to detach from our compulsions, addictions, obsessions and fears. New knowledge can be acquired and at least to some extent will reside in our "soulular" memories from previous life times into the next. Forgiveness from other spirits in the Astral or those on the earth plane can improve dysfunction and advance the next incarnation. The "black sheep" who is really "white" in spiritual terms may come back to try and help heal family dysfunction.
Our options in the Astral are limited. We can reincarnate - usually into the family who is the most likely to be able to test and help us overcome the dysfunctions we never resolved in prior life times. We choose the parents who can best help us refine the higher Self.
Depending on the spiritual tribunal it is possible, I believe, to graduate to a higher vibration.
We may be permitted to continue in the Astral as a spirit guide with new assignments to assist the living.
Although we lose free will in the Astral, one can work as a spirit guide through the free will of either a living loved person or someone else that we have been assigned to help. The guide that is chosen will usually have had a similar expertise during their life time and therefore is most able to be of assistance to the one living. For instance, the spirit guide who helps me in my bone divination was a sangoma in her previous life and is now completing work she never completed in her last incarnation. In this way she helps me with my destiny and improves her karma at the same time. However, because free will is the cosmic law those alive on the earth plane need to ask very specifically for what they want or preferably for what they really need for their spiritual lives and purpose.
She or he cannot simply help us with our lives without clear direction. One cannot make a request such as; "please tell me what my destiny is," we have to find that out for ourselves. They can help nudge us in the right direction with our skillful requests. Perfected souls can also assist the living through their free will but have no need to do so to improve their karmic profile.
There is no time beyond the veil and it may take years in earth time before a spirit guide may appear.
Ancestors and guides usually retain their persona, apparel, language, beliefs and idiosyncrasies. However, they have been “purified” and given a reality check during reconciliation. The religious fundamentalist may no longer be a zealot and someone who never believed in an after-life will now know the truth.
The living can also assist the dead in this process. Rituals of remembrance empower them. Some kind of spirit guide practice is required to ask and keep in touch with the dead; an altar, a dream practice, prayers, requests, gratitude, love and celebrations on days special to them such as birthday days and death days.
