THE INNER HEALER #3

The Inner Healer

The Inner Healer is part of the soul and like the soul is pure - created in the image of the Divine. It has infinite potential. Anything is possible.

There is no affliction which does not have a cure. The soul knows this and the body is ready to learn.

Spiritual laws are operative whether or not we can explain or understand them or whether or not we know about them or believe in them.

There are a few chosen ones who can clear clogged and cluttered paths to allow the Creator’s free flow of love energy.

We witness this power in cases of spontaneous remission of diseases that have defied the best of what modern medicine has to offer. Without the Inner Healer all physicians, healers and shamans would be hopelessly lost.

The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient whilst nature (with the help of "Field") cures the disease. Voltaire

There are FOUR VARIABLES in healing:

  THE HEALER

Is responsible for the placebo effect - and not invoking the opposite of nocebo.

The healer has the potential to wound or heal depending on their thoughts, words and acts and can tip the scales towards healing and curing.

Rituals and practices will vary even as people do. What today is called the placebo effect does not imply fooling the patient into believing in something that is not but rather medicating him with faith in what could happen if allowed.

A person’s skepticism, anxiety and dismay may impair their healing and stand in the way of their activating their own Inner Healer. As soon as the patient becomes open to the possibility of the treatments’ efficacy, be it a ritual, a herb or a suggestion, hope and belief, they work their own magic.”

THE PATIENT

Is responsible for facilitating his or her Inner Healer using all means at his or her disposal, allopathic and non-allopathic.

THE FIELD

Herein reside the Creator, spirit guides and other mysterious factors unconfined to the Space-Time Continuum. To the extent that the healer and the patient invoke the power of the Field, the healing or curing will be magnified. Nor everyone can be used but everyone can be healed.

Some can be cured and still not be healed.

“For every ailment under the sun, there is a cure or there is none,
If there be one, try to find it, if there be none strive not to mind it (and be healed.)

Mother Goose

Most of the Field is unknowable but gifted healers have the capacity to glean vital assistance from the Field through prayer, spirit guides and shamanic-like healing.

THE PLACE OF HEALING.

Place, includes the choices we make in the work environment, the home, the availability of alternative healing techniques, access to nature, as well as financial, medical and nutritional restrictions or support. If these are not, or cannot be optimized, healing can be compromised.

“Only love can generate the healing power.”

Agnes Sanford

The two basic feelings we have of love and fear govern these four variables. When we are coherent with love magical things can occur.

Placebo depends on love and belief, nocebo on fear, disbelief, hopelessness, cynicism, skepticism, doubt, resignation, detachment, denial, guilt, and shame.

Anyone who believes that they do not deserve to be well for religious, superstitious or other reasons is more than likely not going to recover from a critical illness.

The physician can invoke the power of nocebo by giving a pessimistic prognosis or an overly aggressive informed consent for procedures because they are concerned about the consequences arising from the legal profession - especially in the United States.

Folks who consult Dr. Google or the internet for complex information that should be given by an expert, can also self-hex themselves with negative information. Their resulting convictions from untruths may become a dogmatic belief preventing them from getting the right care.

Now that big business and the bottom line has taken over the sacred task of the physician to heal they have polluted the concept of a doctor/healer - patient relationship with the demeaning term “Provider” which can compromise placebo by removing the good, old fashioned “Bedside Manner” and the Doctor-Patient Relationship. Moreover, patients complain that their doctors attend to their computers and never touch, examine or look at them.

Medicine has been exploited  to the extent that physicians are facing burn out and many are thinking that if they had it to do all over again they would not go into medicine. Many of the most experienced and expert physicians are retiring prematurely. Some new graduates regard medicine as a nine to five job rather than as a calling. All of these factors plus technology, electronic medical records as well as other toxic reimbursement factors can have a negative on the patient’s Inner Healer.

“S/He is the best physician who is the most ingenious inspirer of hope.” Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The power of prayer (Field) is greater than the power of prophecy (prognosis) and therein is where healing is to be found.

“All healing is in the hands of the Creator. It can be delegated to intermediaries for designated moments.” Rev Ben Shimon

Our D.N.A. is plastic. One’s telomeres can be lengthened by meditation. Faith, belief, hope, trust, surrender and love are huge when faced with difficult health challenges. A positive or even “loving” relationship with one’s health team, professionals, family, friends and support groups can work miracles. The body is a vibrational organism. The body is not solid as it seems. We are all just particles vibrating and orbiting around other particles mostly in empty space. New cells are also constantly being formed.

Surrender implies trust; a letting go, not grasping, being non-attached but receptive and flexible, not giving up but giving in to a higher force, believing that no matter what happens the outcome will be for the best and being in the flow of a love vibration. These attributes can allow for a greater connection to the Field, a fearless attitude that invokes equanimity, connection to the Higher Self and healing. These are also more likely to augment the Inner Healer and a cure. This does not imply a path of non-action but of faithful, loving action.

A dedicated spiritual practice of going inward is vital.

“If a person wants to be sure of the road s/he treads on, she must close her eyes and walk in the darkness.” St. John of the Cross

Neuroscience has show that cynicism, shame and guilt increase pro-inflammatory factors which can cause certain diseases and disempower the immune system. Compassion and forgiveness enhance the immune system.

We need to forgive ourselves first (have no shame or guilt,) forgive others and ask for forgiveness from others if needed. We best have a clean slate to facilitate our Inner Healer.

THE INNER HEALER #2

“The philosophies of one age have become the absurdities of the next and the foolishness of yesterday has become the wisdom of tomorrow.”

William Osler M.D.

There are three basic healing paradigms;

Allopathic Medicine,

Integrative Medicine

(includes the Mind-Body Connection)

and the lesser known and appreciated

Medicine Not Localized in Space and Time

which could be called Shamanic or even Quantum Healing since it comprises a non-local Quantum-like relationship.

"Allopathic, Newtonian, or Cartesian" medicine do not accept that consciousness is outside the brain and that there are beneficial properties to be had when one invokes the non-local power of the “Field.” Indigenous peoples, sages and mystics have known this for eons. We are slowly finding our way back to what we once knew.

We are not just influences but also recipients of influences from distant places and distant times.

"Out there beyond ideas or right-doing and wrong-doing, there is a Field. I will meet you there." Rumi

"Whatever being comes to be, be it motionless or moving, derives it's being from Field and Knower (the Creator) of the Field."

Bhagavad Gita

The power of the Field resides in it being not localized in space and time. Einstein once said that the distinction between past, present and future is only an illusion, albeit a stubborn one. To manage our realities on earth we have constructed the concept of time.

The results of healing (or hexing) may not manifest in a way seen by seeing eyes nor in time as kept by clock and calendar...

The body is not what it seems. We are really just vibrational entities whose atomic and subatomic particles rotate around each other in empty space. We are mostly empty space.

“The body is not what it seems …It is not a solid mass but a system of little particles or points of energy separated from each other by space and held in place by an electrically balanced field ...”

Olgar Worrell

Quantum physicists say that anyone who thinks they understand quantum physics really does not understand it. Distant healing is just as mysterious.

“Quantum" healing is not localized in space and time. The “observer” or the healer, healing even from a distance, can change the way "particles" or the cells of the patient behave by delivering healing intentions from a remote place. Our D.N.A. is vulnerable to this focused intention. The healer’s distant intentions can affect the patient’s body even unbeknown to the patient - the power of placebo having been discounted. The consciousness of this intention is non-local and does not reside in the brain but outside of it.  It can propagate through the Field to help or harm.

It is important to realize that fear and love; nocebo and placebo work directly on the belief system of the patient. Placebo (love) is the power of belief to help, heal or cure. Nocebo (fear,) its opposite is the power of belief to hurt, harm or even kill. The Field affect, however, can work directly on the Inner Healer completely bi-passing placebo.

Furthermore, if the patient believes they do not deserve to be well because of their prior actions, nocebo is empowered. Some patients have the misconception that illness is a way of God punishing them for their misdeeds and sins. Sickness does not work this way. We know some of the reasons why people get sick but mostly the exact causes remains an enigma.

"Anyone who isn't confused here, does not really understand what is going on." Unknown

Distant healing can affect someone who is not even conscious of being healed (placebo is dicounted.) It has been shown to be effective in double-blind trials where participants are not told they are being healed or prayed for from a distance and do not know who is healing them. The healers do not know their patients either. In these studies, the benefits are so meaningful that if it could be bottled into a pill it would be negligent not to prescribe it.

The opposite must also be true - distant hexing works. The "Field" like the internet is value neutral and can transmit both light and dark intentions.

Distant healing or hexing work indirectly though the Field, whether the patient believes in it, understands it or knows about it or not.

Guilt can enhance nocebo. Witchcraft is even more powerful in the face of guilt. If one has wronged someone, knows that the victim has gone to a witch (rather than a lawyer in an indigenous society), and that a hex has been delivered, the effect can be drastic and even fatal. The combination of nocebo, guilt and the hex can be lethal.

There is a story from my homeland about an African employer - lets call him Gideon who thought he was going to die because a witch had put a snake inside in him that was eating him up. His employer noticed he was getting thinner and thinner, was concerned and took him to her physician who did an extensive work up, including, imaging all of which were normal. The doctor told him; "you see Gideon there is no snake." Gideon continued to fade and told his employer he was going home to try and get the snake removed by a sangoma. She was unable to console or reassure him and Gideon went home. Months later she heard that Gideon had died. She confided in Agnes her other employee that she could not understand - Gideon had been young, strong and healthy and nothing could be found that could make him so sick -  there was no snake. Agnes replied; "but it was a clever snake, it hid behind his bones where it could not be seen." This "snake" is a combination of nocebo, distant healing and possibly in Gideon's case also guilt.

Make no mistake witchcraft is alive and well and not just in indigenous societies. It works, and it works more powerfully in those who believe in it.

THE INNER HEALER

SOUL ARCHITECTURE And THE INNER HEALER #1

All the talents of God are within you.
How could this be otherwise when your soul is derived from His genes!”
 Hafiz

The mystery of the Inner Healer resides in its being part of the soul. Both have the infinite capacity to heal or to transform - either the body or the Higher Self.

"If you want to understands the secrets of the universe think in terms of energy and vibration." Nikola Tesla

The same is true for the Inner Healer. The vibration in our chakra system is also key to empowering the Inner healer. The heart chakra is the most difficult one to open but when it does, energy can flow into the upper chakras and further enable the Inner Healer as well as assist in spiritual transformation.

When the heart is muffled the soul shrinks.

Healing in the body must also begin with soul health and vice versa. Spiritual practice aligns our vibration and assists the Inner Healer. The Healing of Spirit (Higher Self) and the Spirit of Healing go hand in hand. Our wants rather than our needs and being in a sentient body enable us to go astray. An understanding of the soul's structure can help us on our journey to healing and curing.Healing and curing are not the same. Not everyone can be cured but everyone can be healed.

There are 72,000 nadis or energy channels that impinge on the seven chakras in the body. All these channels and all seven chakras are connected. Two of the three main channels ascending up the spine are; the Sun (masculine, expansive,) the Moon (feminine and contractive.) They spiral up and around the Central channel of the spine. The key to balancing their energy is the feminine, Kundalini, Shakti energy. Kundalini can enable both spiritual transformation as well as healing. This energy travels in a spiral and has the capacity to effect our D.N.A. which is also formed in a spiral. Spiritual practice can lengthen our telomeres and decrease our biological age. Enhancing our Kundalini is not only spiritual but healthful. We all have Kundalini within us. It has different names and differing expressions in various cultures. Kundalini is not part of our life force but is enhanced by it and by any form of inner work that facilitates our Parasympathetic nervous system responsible for a relaxation response. Out Sympathetic  flight of fight response is great for survival but can mitigate against good health if unattended by spiritual practice.

"The Kundalini in the form of latency is coiled like a serpent. One who impels this Shakti to move will attain liberation" (and  healthfulness as well.) Hatha Yoga Pradika

Umbilini is the Zulu equivalent:

“Something like a hot, coiled snake ...”

Credo Mutwa Zulu Sangoma and Sanusi (prophet)

Attention to the soul's architecture is not only essential for spiritual tranformation but also for health and healing. The soul is pure and the soul is single. The soul is never split or parted. The soul, however can split from the body due to the unskillful machinations of our Shadow (Evil Inclination), Ego and Monkey mind. This can result in soul sickness or in extreme cases, soul loss. Soul sickness can cause body sickness. Ego, Monkey Mind and the Shadow all have their rolls and are necessary. They are not there to be eliminated but to be controlled and confined to their respective tasks which are centered around self-mastery and actualization of the lesser self.  We are continually in a state of flux between Ego, Monkey (Narrow) Mind, and Shadow (Evil Inclination) versus the Higher Self, Big (or Spacious) Mind and our Good Inclination. We need to subordinate the former three to the latter three.

Tricksters are usually present to enhance the dark. Our guides are there to facilitate the light - if we ask to receive. As we ascend up the energy hierarchy we will start to encounter tricksters. We will need to invoke our guides for support because of the cosmic law of free will. A spirit guide practice with the help of an altar will enable this connection. Tricksters come unbidden and disobey this cosmic law. They are there to sabotage our ascent to the light. Our guides can facilitate the light and warn us about the tricksters. The best way to manage this flux is with spiritual practice and knowledge, as well as a spirit guide connection.

“From the sound of my sighing has my essence (soul) cleaved onto my flesh (body.)” King David

The soul’s essence should lodge comfortably in the body.

The soul yearns to do the Creator’s will and clings to the body when all is well.

A body caught up in cravings and attached to sentient pleasures distances the soul. The soul withdraws causing bodily imbalance and sickness. The body’s (sentient, flesh) attachments need to be broken so the soul (essence) can return to the body.

The “sound of sighing” is when we achieve equanimity and unity and we feel One with our Self (Soul) and our body and the Creator. Sensory, bodily oriented, active meditations can enable equanimity and facilitate healing and even curing.

The soul's fulfillment is through the experience of the senses.
The soul's conversation is not of the mind. It is best heard with the senses.

Shed and shie from what keeps the soul from joy.

The same is true for the body. Immersing in wholesome sensory pleasure is healthful. Compulsion for irresponsible sensory activities is harmful.

"Out there beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a Field. I will meet you there." Rumi

The Field can facilitate healing in many ways by channelling universal healing energy which is basically the Creator's love is disguise. It can also inhibit healing by inducing fear mediated inside by oneself as well as trickster energies from outside of us and those challenges we face in living. The Field like the Internet is value neutral; fear can be propagated through the Field by tricksters just as easily as love can be by our guides.

Soul sickness or loss occurs when the soul-essence separates from the body-flesh because of the indiscriminate and irresponsible reveling of the body in the senses due to lack of control over Ego, Monkey Mind and Shadow. Soul sickness creates sickness in the body as well. "Sex, drugs and rock and roll" can harm both soul and body.

These energies within us have to be managed. Three of them contract (Shadow, Monkey Mind and Ego) and are fear based and three expand (Our Inclination to do Good, Spacious Mind and the Higher Self) and are love based. All six of them are essential for health as well as spiritual transformation. The negative, however, must be subordinated to the positive.

Free will determines our actions. We cannot say the Devil made us do it. The tricksters or dark forces will try their best to enhance the negative and block the positive. Our guides and ancestors will, with our permission, facilitate the  positive ones and inhibit the negative. Both sides, being non-local in space and time, know our weaknesses and strengths. The dark forces go for our vulnerabilities and the weakest links in our chains. They seemingly have an advantage because they do not obey the cosmic law of free will, but love always overcome fear.

STORE CONSCIOUSNESS

Store Consciousness which is embedded in our subconscious is a Buddhist concept. It arises from the accumulation of both the good and bad experiences from our past lives which become a part of the soul’s unconscious memories. The unskillful ones may limit our soul’s traverse and reincarnations as well as our health. Negative Store Consciousness are the skeletons in the closets of our subconscious minds from prior incarnations which will surface every now and again. Negative Store Consciousness can be controlled by spiritual awareness, knowledge, good actions and inner practice. Our positive and negative past lives can help or impede us. They may remain part of our "soulular memory." We have to be cognisant of these past imprints both good and bad.

DEATH # 5

MISCELLANEOUS QUOTES TO END THIS BLOG SERIES

The Buddhist say that the deepest meditation, is that on death. That it leave the biggest imprint, like the spoor of the elephant in the sand.

“Of all footprints, that of the elephant is supreme. Similarly, of all mindfulness meditation, that on death is supreme.”

“Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me. The carriage held but just ourselves and immortality.” E. Dickenson

“The day we die the wind comes down to take away our footprints.
The wind makes dust to cover up the marks we left while walking.
For otherwise the thing would seem as if we were still living.
Therefore the wind is he who comes to blow away our footprints.”

Southern Bushman prayer

It is not unusual for one to linger between the worlds for a period of time after death and when called upon may respond so that the exchange can purify and strengthen the spirit of the sentient being and that of the one passing on.

“To the living, I am gone
To the sorrowful, I will never return
To the angry, I was cheated
But to the happy, I am at peace
And to the faithful, I have never left
I cannot be seen but I can be heard
So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea
Remember me, Remember me
In your heart, your thoughts, your memories, of the times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed
For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.”
Margaret Mead

If I should die and leave you here a while,
be not like others sore undone,
who keep long vigil by the silent dust.
For my sake turn again to life and smile,
nerving thy heart and trembling hand
to do
something to comfort other hearts than
thine.
Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine
and I perchance may therein comfort you.”
Turn Again to Life. Mary Lee Hall

“Death asks not what have you but who are you. Lifes questions is not what have I but what am I.” Swami Rama Tirtha

“A net is spread out for the living, everything is given on loan and all is preparation for a big celebration.” Rev Akiva

Dying, dying, the world keeps on dying but none knows how to die. No one dies in such a way that he won’t die again.” Kabir

"It is very dangerous to go into Eternity with possibilities which one has himself prevented from becoming realities.  A possibility is a hint from God.  One must follow it.”  Kierkegaard

“Death is nature’s way of saying, your table is ready.”

Robin Williams

“Death does not extinguish the light. It puts out the lamp because the dawn has come.” Tagore

“When you were born you were crying and everyone else was smiling. Live your life so at the end, your're the one who is smiling and everyone else is crying.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The bitterest tears shed over graves are or word left unsaid and deed left undone. Harriet Beecher Stowe

"I joyfully await the exit - and hope never to return." Frida Kahlo

"For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance." Kahlil Gibran
