Happy holiday season to all. For those who have asked me about videos on the talks, the last two are on You Tube for you to watch (probably in stages they are each an hour and a half long.) They will only be up until the next talks begin.
The You Tube topics: REMEDIES FOR THE THREE DEADLY SINS OF KARMA and A TREE OF KNOWLEDGE VS. A TREE OF LIFE - (COGNITIVE UNDERSTANDING VS. INNER WISDOM.)
If you go to www. davidcumes.com you will be able to download them.
A heads up on talks for the January and February we will be doing: DEATH: A TICKET TO A NEW DESTINATION and a talk on TECHNOLOGY OF THE SOUL.

Until January
As promised - some pithy quotes.

This is the last of the blogs on The Spirit of Healing. I will be leaving for South Africa soon until January 1st so except for maybe some pithy quotes now and then the blog will restart next year. The new topic will be on "how sangoma (Zulu for a medicine man or woman) healing works."

The one part of healing that has not been emphasized is what can happen if one is not cured but is healed. There is a quote that applies well to this conundrum...
"Anyone who isn't confused here really does'nt understand what is going on." Anonymous

It is hard to predict accurately who will do well and stay in remission even with the disease
or
who will succumb with the equanimity that comes from being fully healed. Naturally those that  have been healed would still like to live out a normal life span in spite of all the transformative gifts acquired through that profound process.

If one looks at disease in general it is quite possible to live in harmony with a potentially lethal disease that lies dormant. Good examples of this are tuberculosis and malaria.
Many folks who come from third world countries will test positive for TB exposure but will never manifest the disease itself unless some adversarial event takes place which upsets the body's balance and the immune system debilitating the Inner Healer; e.g. poor nutrition, a superimposed infection, severe stress etc. If this happens the patient could even die rapidly of a fulminating "miliary" infection. The same can be true for malaria which can in remission for extended periods of time if all is well in body, mind and spirit.
Hence there is a need to keep in exquisite balance to remain in remission from any possible lethal illness whether it is cancer, AIDS or anything else. There are many people on the planet today in remission from AIDS and the one common denominator, even before effective treatment was devised, seems to relate to those expansive and positive factors on a Tree of Health summarized below in the figure. (A few have even tested HIV negative which is not thought to be possible.)
(Their opposites cause contraction and inhibition of the Life Force and can be seen on the left side of the Tree.)

Inner Wisdom which invokes more of a spiritual or shamanic attention is just as important as Cognitive Understanding which is part and parcel of the allopathic paradigm.
Both are vital.
Truth of the diagnosis is seminal since the Inner Healer, part of soul technology, needs to know the truth to function optimally.
Hope and Belief are crucial and even more so Faith (in the center.) Faith is more powerful and implies an overwhelming belief and sense of knowing that one will be well. This is where Grace can move in and inspire the Inner Healer to God like potential.
Trust invokes the quality of Surrender which is not a giving up but a giving in to a Higher Force that operates especially well with Faith, Hope, Belief.
Love and empathy activate the immune system as does compassion.
Forgiveness which is love based enhances the immune system.
(Guilt and Shame the opposites of Forgiveness, increase pro-inflammatory factors which are precursors to many diseases.)
Laughter which increases endorphins and boosts the immune system is the best medicine especially in the form of a good belly laugh.
Choice which depends on Free Will  is key for Intention, Will, Yearning, Desire, Attention and Action. These, along with a Spiritual Practice enhance the Life Force and balance the healing in the Center of the Tree.

It is all very simple really but at the same time extremely difficult to live by. But this is what is required for not only Spontaneous Remission but also for prolonged remission where the disease is put on hold often until such time as a normal life span has ended.
(These principles are also key to spiritual Transcendence and Transformation for those on the journey to Self Realization.)

This weeks blog is on Spontaneous Remission of Disease

Spontaneous Remission (S.R.) is a little like seeing water running uphill - its a miracle - it should not happen! A disease that has defied the best that Western medicine has to offer suddenly completely disappears.
These seem to be the qualities seen in those patient's that facilitate the event. They also fit nicely into the positive polarities on the right side of a Tree of Life/Health and also in the center (see older blogs for more information.)

Will to live, fighting spirit, taking control, having unfulfilled goals
Truth - accepting & working with the diagnosis
Knowledge - intuitive & intellectual, prior rite of passage
Trust that the challenge can be beaten (Belief, Hope, Faith, Surrender)
Surrender - Faith or spiritual belief
Fearless, avoiding stress, saying no, expressing needs
Love & support, involving others
Choice - perceiving the physician as a partner
Action - new meaning, transformation, life changes

The most seminal of these appears to be faith, surrender and a profound inner, underlying belief that all will be well.

It is well known that those who have a community or a support group do better, as do those with a partner at home or even a pet.

Love is the most universal, formidable and mysterious of all the cosmic forces. de Chardin

Those who have already successfully undergone a rite of passage also are more likely to have S.R. (If one has climbed Everest once it will be easier the second time.)

Re taking appropriate action; most patients say that they would not have chosen to have the disease but having had no choice they are extremely grateful for the benefits and life transforming effects resulting from the encounter. They have chosen to prevail in one way or another.

There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands. You seek problems (challenges) because you need their gifts  Richard Bach

And even if they succumb to the disease they often do so with a remarkable equanimity knowing that although they were not cured, they were healed.
What the caterpillar calls the end of the world the butterfly calls the beginning.  Zen saying

Physicians tend to ignore these remarkable events and label them "anecdotal" rather than researching the attitudes of those in whom it happens.
There have been numerous cases documented at Lourdes in France. Many have been reviewed by a medical panel appointed by the Vatican, their data scrutinized and proved to be real. These facts above have been gleaned from data on these patients.

These patients also manifested the following attributes (they can be remembered by the mnemonic the FAR-C's)

Flexible, adaptable, resilient
 • Challenge, commitment, control, connection, comedy, congruence, cantankerous, creative, crisis/cathartic conversion experience, feelings of "heat" in the body
Frequently these are difficult patients for the medical profession to deal with. They are congruent with themselves and are not trying to win a popularity contest. Rather they desire just to be well in spite of all circumstances and speak their minds.
Humor is known to increase endorphins and enhance the immune system.

The opposite was true for the following deficiencies (seen on the left side of the Tree)

Hopeless, helpless, head down
 Anxious, apathetic
 Depressed, dejected, denial
(many known to depress the immune system)

Also fascinating are the frequent experiences encountered listed below which sometimes resembles Kundalini energy moving in the body
(this has been called a crisis/cathartic conversion experience by those unfamiliar with esoteric energy anatomy)
Peak (oneness) experiences, transcendence
 Being transported beyond oneself
Feeling of intense love, empathy or compassion
•Out of body experiences & shamanic states
Connecting with spirit guides or ancestors
Heat sensations, burning fire in the chest, vibrational or electricity or lightning like energy moving in the body

"The body is not what it seems …It is not a solid mass but a system of little particles or points of energy separated from each other by space & held in place by an electrically balanced  field. When these particles are not in their proper place then disease manifests in the body. Spiritual healing is one way of bringing the particles back into harmonious relationship." Olgar Worrall
We have "quantum bodies" that can behave in a quantum manner not yet understood by medical science which is unfamiliar with this "new" yet very old system of knowledge. Medicine needs to bring itself up to date.

This week's blog is on Healing Outcomes

There are basically five healing options:
Remission, Relapse, Fulminating Progression and Death, Spontaneous Remission and Being Healed but not Cured

The true story below demonstrates a cycle of remission followed by relapse of a deadly lymphoma or at least one known to be deadly in the years when this was reported

patient was admitted to the hospital about to die from advanced lymphoma. He had enlarged lymph nodes all over his body and his pleural cavities were filled with fluid (bilateral pleural effusions) necessitating oxygen treatment. A new drug called Krebiozen had just been released and his doctor offered this to his patient. The patient, Mr W., was very well informed about his disease and was aware of the early very favorable results of this treatment and excited about his prospects. He was treated for the lymphoma and his lymphadenopathy and pleural effusions seemed to melt away. Soon the patient was ambulating and appeared to be in complete remission. He flew home in his own plane at altitude not requiring any oxygen. For two months he remained well  but then articles appeared that the treatment was now believed to be ineffective. Mr. Wright was very scientific and followed all the data about his disease. Being rigid in his beliefs he became depressed and was readmitted in relapse much the same as he had been before. His doctor was amazed at the astonishing behavior of the cancer and decided to reintroduce the possibility of Krebiozen. He told Mr. W that indeed Krebiozen was just as good as they had thought but some of the shipments had deteriorated and had been ineffective. He reassured him that he now had a more potent form of the same which he wanted to administer. Mr. W was encouraged by the good news and convinced of the benefit because of the dramatic effects of the first administration. However, he did not know that his Dr.'s intention was to give a placebo and not Krebiozen. The placebo had the identical response as the prior treatment and again Mr. W left the hospital in complete remission. He remained well until a few months later when the A.M.A published a final report that the Krebiozen was in fact useless. Mr. W read the report and died shortly after.

In previous blogs we talked about the power of medical hexing which was certainly not the case with Mr. W's doctor who did his best to enhance the placebo effect and with this power effect a cure or at least a prolonged remission. Mr. W hexed himself with data which fitted his belief system and overcame his Inner Healer that was doing quite well before the "words" of evidence based medicine  that became his death sentence. The Internet today is also very successful in self-hexing many patients and the words or prognosis of an oncologist can be a powerful nocebo or an encouraging placebo depending how much Hope is added to the sentences.

"Hope is about believing in spite of the evidence and then watching the evidence change." The Ancestors

Mr. W could have possibly had a spontaneous remission if he had just been more ignorant, trusting and surrendering rather than analyzing. Given the facts it is also unlikely that being so attached to cure and probably fearful of death he was neither healed nor cured. His course was one of remission, relapse and finally fulminating progression and death.
In next weeks blog we will discuss the miracle of spontaneous remission of diseases where medical science has failed to make any impression on a dire prognosis.
